(KLZA)-- Work is underway on Nebraska Highway 4 in Pawnee County.
The work will include culvert extensions and replacements, roadway resurfacing, shoulder grading and bridge construction.
The work will occur from reference point 182.89 to reference point 191.95, according to the Nebraska Department of Transportation.
Werner Construction, Inc., of Hastings, is the contractor for this project. Starting Tuesday, August 18, N-4 will be closed to thru traffic between the junction with N-99 and the junction with N-50 for the replacement of the bridge at reference point 189.57.
Traffic will utilize the signed detour on highways N-99, N-8, and N-50. Anticipated completion of work requiring the full closure of N-4 is May 2027.
Traffic will be maintained for the remainder of the work, following N-4 re-opening to traffic, with the use of flaggers and a pilot car. A 12-foot width restriction will be in effect throughout construction. Anticipated project completion is Sept. 2027.
