(KNZA)--South Brown County USD 430 is proposing a 2026-27 budget that exceeds the revenue neutral rate.
The USD 430 Board of Education approved the 15-point-2-million-dollar budget for publication at its August 12th meeting.
The budget calls for an estimated tax rate of 58-point-248 mills, which is two mills above the revenue neutral rate.
The budget includes a 2-point-4-mill increase in the supplemental general fund levy, while maintaining the three-mill capital outlay levy and 11-mill bond and interest levy. The general fund levy is set by the state at 20 mills.
The district is expected to collect about 2-point-5 million dollars in property tax revenue.
The school board will consider adopting the budget September 9th, following a public hearing. The board will also consider exceeding the revenue neutral rate following a second hearing.
