(KNZA)--A Fairview man convicted on multiple charges stemming from a violent attack last November has been sentenced to more than 13 years in prison.

Brown County Attorney Kevin Hill says a judge Monday sentenced 44-year-old Gerry Rilinger to 160 months in prison on charges of aggravated battery, battery of a correctional officer, and battery on a law enforcement officer.

During the hearing, Hill says the court reviewed graphic photographs of the victim’s injuries and denied Rilinger’s request for a concurrent sentence.

Rilinger pleaded no contest to the charges in June. He originally faced 10 counts, including attempted second-degree murder.

Rilinger was ordered delivered to the Kansas Department of Corrections to begin serving his sentence.
