(KAIR)--A 31-year-old Atchison man is facing charges following an investigation into allegations of child abuse. 

Atchison Police Chief Mike Wilson, in a release, says Terry W. Jones was arrested Thursday afternoon at his residence on charges of abuse of a child, aggravated assault and sexual battery. 

The police investigation began August 14th after a report of child abuse involving a victim under the age of 10 was made to the Kansas Department for Children and Families.

According to Wilson, the investigation led police to identify two additional victims under the age of 18. One victim was allegedly threatened with a knife, while another was allegedly the victim of sexual battery.

Police served a search warrant Thursday at Jones' residence to search for evidence.

Following his arrest, Jones was booked into the Atchison County Jail. As of Friday, he remained in custody with no bond set.

Wilson says the investigation remains ongoing.
