Jackson County Sheriff Tim Morse says the first stop happened Saturday around noon on U.S. 75 Highway near 118th Road, near Hoyt. A probable cause search of the vehicle turned up suspected methamphetamine, marijuana, digital scales, plastic baggies and other drug paraphernalia.
The front-seat passenger, 45-year-old Tara Lord of Holton, was also searched, and additional suspected methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia were found. Morse says further investigation led deputies to allege Lord was involved in the distribution of methamphetamine.
The driver was questioned and released after investigators determined there was not probable cause for an arrest.
Lord was booked into the Jackson County Jail on alleged charges including distribution and possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, and use of a communication device in the commission of a drug felony.
In a separate case Sunday afternoon, deputies stopped a Chevrolet Silverado on 150th Road near Q Road. The driver was allegedly operating the vehicle without a valid license.
Morse says a probable cause search of the truck turned up methamphetamine, marijuana, THC, drug paraphernalia and open containers of alcohol.
The driver, identified as 50-year-old Christina Marie Wahquahboshkuk of Mayetta, was arrested and booked into the Jackson County Jail.
She faces alleged charges including possession of methamphetamine, marijuana and THC, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving while suspended, transporting an open container and no insurance.
