(KLZA)-- Richardson County Commissioners met with special legal counsel Jerry Piglsey, County Attorney Samantha Scheitel and County Clerk Mary Eickhoff in executive session last week to discuss pending litigation.

Richardson County received notices from the Union representing County Road and Bridge Department employees that following the county's denial of grievance filed on behalf of employees Roger Glathar and Bryan Dettmann, the union is requesting a grievance board hearing.

Union representative Justin Hubly informed the County's special legal counsel that the union would be happy to continue these cases until after the Commission of Industrial Relations makes a final decision on a matter already pending before the CIR.

The grievance board hearing will be tabled until the hearing is held with the CIR to make a ruling on a case filed by the Union regarding the use of GPS and AI-integrated systems in county vehicles.

The Commission did make a decision on the Union's motion for temporary relief, deciding that the County “may continue to make use of its installed GPS and AI-integrated camera system for purposes other than bargaining unit employee monitoring.
