(KMZA) --A Kansas Department of Transportation roadway improvement project is set to begin Friday on U.S. 77 in Waterville.
The work will take place just east of Minnesota Avenue. Traffic in both directions will be maintained, but motorists should expect a reduced speed limit of 20 miles per hour and a 12-foot width restriction through the work zone.
Work is scheduled during daytime hours Monday through Friday and is expected to be completed by early October, weather permitting.
Vogts-Parga Construction of Moundridge is the prime contractor on the $157,000 project.
KDOT is reminding motorists to stay alert, follow posted signs and avoid using hand-held mobile devices in active work zones.
