(KAIR)--Elanco Animal Health celebrated the completion of a major expansion and renovation of its Elwood manufacturing facility Wednesday, an investment, the company says, that is bringing increased production capacity and dozens of new jobs to the area.
Elanco’s grand opening was held Wednesday afternoon for the 25,000-square-foot expansion. According to the company, the project has increased production capacity at the site by more than four times through the addition of new equipment and is part of a broader $150 million investment planned at the Elwood facility through 2028.
The expansion has also brought nearly 70 new jobs to the region, with additional positions expected as the facility’s capabilities grow.
Elanco manufactures two USDA-approved monoclonal antibody products at the Elwood site, including treatments for canine parvovirus and allergic and atopic dermatitis.
The expansion also includes a new pilot plant, quality control laboratory and additional support space.
Local and state officials joined company leaders for Wednesday’s ribbon-cutting ceremony.
