(KAIR)--A Lawrence woman was arrested in Atchison Wednesday afternoon after allegedly speeding toward two city officers responding to a disturbance.

In a release, Atchison Police Chief Mike Wilson says officers were called shortly before 1:00 to a home in the 1200 block of South 6th Street.

As officers got out of their patrol vehicles, a woman alleged to have been involved in the disturbance was attempting to leave in a Nissan and accelerated toward them. The car stopped abruptly, and neither officer was hit.

Police arrested 23-year-old Zoie Bridges at the scene. The investigation found that Bridges allegedly slashed a tire on a vehicle belonging to a 54-year-old resident.

Wilson says open containers of alcohol, marijuana and drug paraphernalia were allegedly found inside the car.

Bridges, arrested for criminal damage to property, aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, transporting an open container and possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, was booked into the Atchison County Jail.
