(KAIR)--A legendary Maur Hill Mount Academy football coach is being inducted into the Kansas Football Coaches Association Hall of Fame.

MH-MA announced that Coach Flynn will receive the honor, recognizing his contributions to the Ravens’ football program.

During his fifteen years of coaching the Maur Hill Ravens his record was ninety-nine wins and forty-eight losses. Flynn took them to the play-offs six times, won the state championship in 1979, was state runner up in 1984 and state championship winner again in 1992. He coached in the Shrine Bowl in 1980 and also served as MH-MA athletic director from 1992-2004.

Flynn retired in 2008 and died in April, 2012, at the age of 68.

A community celebration will begin Friday evening, September 18, at 5:30, with a happy hour at The Roost before the Ravens’ home football game against Riverside.

Coach Flynn’s family will also be recognized during halftime of the game.

The celebration is open to everyone, with former players, students, alumni and community members invited to help honor the legacy of the late Coach Flynn and his Hall of Fame induction.
