(KAIR)--If you’re traveling in Atchison County and encounter a barricade, don’t move it.

That message was delivered in a post made to Atchison County’s official social media, imploring drivers not to move barricades for their own convenience.

County officials say the barricades protect crews making road repairs and warn motorists that they cannot safely travel through the work zone. If barricades are up, workers are on the road, and drivers should detour around the closed area.

Officials did not say how many recent cases of barricade moving have occurred, but the county’s message indicates it is an ongoing problem.
