(KLZA)--A former Hiawatha, Kansas man has been sentenced to one to five years in prison in Richardson County, Nebraska, on a charge of intentional child abuse.

69-year-old Richard Davidson Junior was sentenced in Richardson County District Court. He was originally charged with two counts of first-degree sexual assault, but both counts were amended.

Court records indicate Davidson sexually assaulted a 13-year-old girl approximately a dozen times between late 2003 and August 2005, with the assaults occurring in Richardson and Hall counties.

The Nebraska State Patrol contacted the woman in January 2021, and Davidson was arrested in February 2024.
