(KMZA)--The 2027 Seneca city budget has been adopted as published.

The City Council unanimously approved the 18-point-4-million-dollar budget following a hearing Wednesday evening that drew no public comment.

The council also unanimously approved a resolution to exceed the revenue-neutral tax rate.

The budget carries an estimated tax rate of 32-point-538 mills, unchanged from this year and less than one mill above the revenue-neutral rate.

The city expects to collect about 1-point-2 million dollars in property taxes, roughly 35-thousand dollars more than this year due to an increase in assessed valuation.

In other business, the council approved a sidewalk closure request from Bergman Remodeling. The west side of Third Street from Main Street to the first alley north will be closed during daytime hours through October 17th for demolition work.

The council also approved a request from the Seneca Area Chamber and Downtown Impact to allow food trucks along Main Street during the annual Oktoberfest celebration Saturday, October 10th.
