(KAIR)--A firsthand account of life and faith in wartime Ukraine will be shared this upcoming weekend at Atchison’s Benedictine College.

According to the college, Sister Lynn McKenzie will present “A Visitor’s Perspective on Wartime Ukraine” Sunday evening, October 4, at 7:00, in O’Malley-McAllister Auditorium.

McKenzie is a Benedictine sister from Sacred Heart Monastery in Cullman, Alabama. She previously worked as an attorney, mediator and ombudsman and holds doctorates in civil and church law.

She has also held leadership roles serving Benedictine sisters throughout the United States and Mexico and, since 2018, has led international representation for Benedictine women. That work has included extensive travel and visits with religious sisters in Ukraine.

A release from the college says the presentation marks the return of the annual Mary L. Fellin Lecture to its traditional fall schedule. The series, sponsored by the Sisters of Mount St. Scholastica Monastery, presents topics from a female perspective.

The lecture is free and open to the public.
