Kernen was arrested in September on charges of statutory sodomy or attempted statutory sodomy, deviate sexual intercourse with a person less than 14 years of age and second-degree child molestation for an aggravated sexual offense with a child less than 17 years old and older than 4 years of age.
Kernen is being held in the Andrew County Jail without bond.
Kernen is accused of subjecting the child to sexual activities on multiple occasions at a Maitland home.
