(KLZA)--A Maitland, Missouri man accused of sexually abusing a child is scheduled to appear in court October seventh.

Thirty-eight-year-old Derrick L. Kernen was arrested in September on several charges, including statutory sodomy or attempted statutory sodomy, deviate sexual intercourse with a person under 14, and second-degree child molestation.

Kernen is accused of engaging in sexual activity with the child on multiple occasions at a Maitland home.

He remains in the Andrew County Jail without bond.
