F.C. School Board adopts budget

(KLZA)--The Falls City Board of Education approved the 2026-27 budget and property tax request during a special meeting Monday evening, following public hearings on both the budget and tax request.

The total property tax request will be $10,101,010,  making the property tax levy 70.0271 cents per $100 of assessed valuation. That represents nearly a 10-cent per $100 of valuation increase from last year.

Earlier this month the Board approved accessing the additional 6% budget authority for the next year.

The total budget of disbursements and transfers $20,405,858.

The valuation of property within the School District 56 boundaries increased for the new fiscal year by $3,542,700, or 5.4 percent.

Based on the property tax request and changes in other revenue, the total operating budget of the Falls City School District will increase 18.03 percent from the previous year.
