(KNZA)---Three people have been arrested following a proactive undercover operation by St. Joseph, Missouri police targeting the enticement of minors.
Police say 20-year-old Zachary Winger and 58-year-old Duane Parrott, both of St. Joseph, were arrested and charged with enticement of a minor. Both are being held without bond.
A third suspect was arrested on a controlled substance charge. That case remains under review.
Police Chief Paul Luster says the operation follows the August 28th effective date of Evie and Sophie’s Law, which provides a clearer framework for investigating the grooming or enticement of minors before a child is harmed.
Police say they will continue proactive investigations targeting adults who attempt to entice minors.
