Alleged Frozen Cake Bandit arrested Monday; two warrants, three business thefts

(KAIR)--Three recent Atchison business thefts, including the reported theft of a cake from a restaurant's freezer during business hours, lead to Monday's arrest of a 38-year-old Atchison man.

According to a release from Atchison Police Chief Mike Wilson, Spenser Fitzpatrick was arrested for theft at Raven Liquor, located at 1800 Main Street. He was additionally arrested on two Atchison County District Court warrants, including one for an alleged theft at the Atchison Dairy Queen, that occurred September 26. Wilson confirms that it was that afternoon at 2:00 that police were called to the restaurant for the report of a man wanted for stealing a cake from the freezer at the fast-food restaurant, then leaving on foot. The second warrant charges Fitzpatrick with a September 12 theft at the city's downtown Dollar General. Once in custody, Fitzpatrick was booked into the Atchison County Jail.

His bond is set at $4,500.
