(KMZA)--A Nemaha Valley Community Hospital surgeon has been named a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
Dr. Denis Jimenez has earned the FACS designation, a distinction earned by fewer than half of practicing surgeons nationwide.
The designation recognizes high standards of surgical care, professionalism and ethics.
The distinction is earned by fewer than half of practicing surgeons nationwide.
Jimenez is a board-certified general surgeon at Nemaha Valley Community Hospital and serves as the hospital’s Trauma Medical Director.
He returned to Kansas in 2022 to practice rural surgery, with a focus on providing surgical and trauma care close to home.
Jimenez also serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery at the University of Kansas School of Medicine and is active in trauma education across the state.
Outside of medicine, Jimenez lives with his wife and four sons on their small farm near Holton.
