Brown County Sheriff John Merchant says several residents have recently raised concerns about unknown people and vehicles seen in different parts of the county. Similar activity has also been reported in surrounding counties.
Merchant says deputies patrol rural areas around the clock and have been meeting with residents to discuss ways to improve security and identify those responsible for theft or vandalism.
Residents who see something concerning are asked to contact the sheriff’s office immediately.
Merchant says information such as a license plate number, vehicle description or description of the people involved could help deputies identify those in question.
