(KAIR)--The Kansas Department of Transportation has approved a more than 740-thousand-dollar project on U.S. 73 in Leavenworth and Atchison Counties.

The project involves sealing 12-point-2 miles of U.S. 73, from just north of Millwood Road in Leavenworth County, north to the south city limits of Atchison.

Vance Brothers L-L-C of Kansas City, Missouri, was awarded the 741-thousand, 470-dollar contract.

The bids were opened September 16th in Topeka.

KDOT lists June 1st, 2027, as the earliest possible start date, with August 23rd, 2027, as the latest start date.
