(KNZA)--Phase one of the Atchison County Community High School auditorium project is complete.

The project included new stage lighting and a new sound system.

The USD 377 Board of Education approved the more than 271-thousand-dollar project in March. The Atchison County Community Schools Education Foundation contributed nearly 217-thousand dollars toward the cost. Funding assistance came through last February’s Hughes Brothers performance in the auditorium.

The new equipment will be on display during the Atchison County Drama Club’s production of Annie, November 13th through the 15th.

School officials say phase two could include a projector, spotlight, curtains, a back-row remodel and new house lights. The estimated cost is about 120-thousand dollars.

The Foundation will also hold a Music Bingo fundraiser November 19th at 118 S 2nd Street, in Atchison at the riverfront, featuring Ultimate Country and Christmas music.
