(KAIR)--A two-vehicle, Friday morning Atchison wreck sent a teenage driver to the hospital.

According to Atchison Police Chief Mike Wilson, the wreck occurred shortly after 7:00 at the intersection of 14th Street and U.S. Highway 59.

A Chevrolet Cruze driven by 17-year-old Alexsha Scott, of Nortonville, was eastbound on U.S. 59 and turning north onto the 14th Street viaduct when it collided with a westbound Chevrolet pickup driven by 39-year-old David Miller, of St. Joseph, Missouri.

Scott was transported by Atchison County EMS to Amberwell Atchison

for hospital examination.

Wilson says Scott was cited for failure to yield.
