(KNZA)--Voters in Jefferson County North USD 339 will decide on two bond questions in the November third general election.
The proposed bonds would address facility and safety needs that district officials say are too costly to fund through regular capital outlay.
The first question would authorize nearly three-point-five million dollars for heating and air conditioning, roofing, and safety and security improvements at the district’s schools. It also includes high school parking improvements and a separate heating and air conditioning system for the gymnasium.
The second question would authorize up to one-point-five million dollars for additional agriculture and web design classrooms at the high school, along with restroom renovations to improve accessibility.
If both bond proposals pass, the district’s mill levy would increase by eight mills. The bonds would be financed over 30 years.
A bond information meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, October 20th at six p.m. at the high school, giving residents an opportunity to learn more about the proposals and ask questions.
