Falls City Council admin report

(KLZA)--The Falls City Council heard a number of updates from City Administrator Gary Jorn when they met Monday evening.
One update included Jorn noting that a substantial increase in the price of the 2024-25 audit from the HBE firm has been paid.
During the October 5th Council meeting,  following an executive session the Council voted 6-0 with two members absent to deny the HBE additional charges for the audit pending further information.  The additional charges totaled $27,600.
Monday night the bill, split between the General Fund and the Utility funds was approved when the claims were approved.
Approval to pay the additional funds did not come before the Council as a separate item during a meeting for action, Jorn said that he had talked to a few Council members who agreed to go ahead and pay the additional charges and move forward.
Administrator Jorn also noted that updates continue at the City Power plant and improvements seem to be working well.  Equipment was installed on unit 9 at the plant. In testing the engine produced 7.5 megawatts of electricity for about 4 hours, going from diesel to natural gas with no issues.  Since then, the engine has been in operation twice more with no issues.
In other business the Council approved a recommendation from the Board of Public Works for a roof overlay project at the Power Plant by Salt Contracting in an amount of $84,126.
