(KNZA)--A Missouri man has pleaded guilty to charges in a Brown County child sex case.

Brown County Attorney Kevin Hill says 36-year-old Alexander Holmes, of Maryville, Missouri, pleaded guilty Monday in Brown County District Court to rape and aggravated indecent liberties with a child.

In exchange for the plea, a charge of aggravated criminal sodomy was dismissed.

Holmes was arrested in March following a lengthy investigation by the Brown County Sheriff's Department into allegations involving a victim under the age of 14 between June and October 2025.

Hill says Holmes faces lifetime sex offender registration and lifetime post-release supervision, in addition to a lengthy prison sentence.

Holmes' bond was revoked, and he was remanded to the Brown County Jail to await sentencing November 16.
