(KMZA)---The City of Seneca and Nemaha County are considering a property exchange.
City Administrator Steve Brooks updated the City Council at their October 21st meeting on discussions involving about 9 acres of city-owned property near the horse arena at the fairgrounds and the Nemaha County Community Building.
Brooks said the city would continue allowing the Seneca Nutrition Center and the Nemaha County Fair to use the community building.
He noted the building needs a new roof and other improvements. Council members expressed support for the proposal.
The city and county will continue discussions, with hopes of reaching a final decision by the end of the year.
In other business, the council approved a Junior Firefighter Program for the Seneca Volunteer Fire Department and appointed Jim Runnebaum to the Seneca Planning Commission.
