(KNZA)--A jury trial scheduled this week for a Nortonville man facing child sex charges has been canceled after the charges were dismissed and he was ordered transferred to Colorado to face a separate warrant.

Court records show 34-year-old Allen Byler had been scheduled for trial Wednesday through Friday in Jefferson County District Court on two counts of aggravated indecent liberties with a child. He pleaded not guilty in August.

The state dismissed those charges October 9th without prejudice, meaning they could be refiled.

Rape and aggravated criminal sodomy charges against Byler had previously been dismissed after a judge ruled the alleged crimes occurred in Colorado.

Byler waived extradition October 13th, allowing authorities in Lincoln County, Colorado, to take custody of him. An extradition status hearing scheduled for October 21st was canceled after the transfer order was carried out.

Byler was arrested in June following a joint investigation by the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office and Kansas Bureau of Investigation into alleged crimes involving a child under 14.
