(KNZA)--A two-vehicle crash in southern Jackson County Wednesday afternoon sent three people to the hospital.
The Kansas Highway Patrol says the crash happened around 4:50 p.m. at the intersection of 134th and S Roads, about five miles south of Mayetta.
According to the Patrol, a Ford Ranger driven by 17-year-old Dustin Peters of Holton was northbound on S Road when he failed to stop at a stop sign and struck a westbound Dodge Durango on 134th Road. The Durango was driven by 24-year-old Madelyn Gruber of Holton.
Two 18-year-old passengers in the Ranger, Myles Helton of Denison and Laquita Peters of Holton, were taken to Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka with suspected minor injuries. Gruber was also taken to the hospital with a possible injury.
Peters was suspected of having minor injuries, but the report does not indicate he was transported to a hospital.
The Patrol says none of the occupants in the Ranger were wearing seat belts. Gruber was buckled up.
