(KAIR)--A Leavenworth man has been sentenced to four years in prison in connection with a residential burglary and the theft of copper piping from a local church.

That's according to a release from Leavenworth County Attorney Todd Thompson, who says 62-year-old Rickey D. Hundley was sentenced to 32 months for residential burglary and 16 months for criminal damage to property, with the sentences ordered to run consecutively for a total of 4-years of incarceration.

Hundley pleaded guilty to both charges in September.

According to court records, Hundley admitted to a Leavenworth police detective that he broke copper piping from three air-conditioning units at a church south of downtown Leavenworth in November of last year.

The damage to the church was estimated at more than 38-thousand dollars.

The residential burglary charge stemmed from a June incident near downtown Leavenworth, where officers responding to a burglary in progress detained Hundley at the scene.

Hundley was arrested and later charged in connection with that incident.
