Valley Falls urges participation in housing survey

(KAIR)--Valley Falls residents are being asked to help identify the community's housing needs as city officials work to establish priorities for future development and improvements.

The request comes from Valley Falls City Administrator Wesley Lanter, who says the city's Community Development Committee is conducting a housing assessment that will help support future applications for infrastructure and housing-related funding.

Among the projects being considered are infrastructure improvements in the Barnes Addition, replacement of the city's water supply system, demolition of deteriorating structures and possible housing rehabilitation assistance.

Lanter says the assessment will help document community needs, although completing it does not guarantee funding.

A survey is being mailed to every residence within Valley Falls city limits, with one response requested per household.

Residents are asked to return their surveys by Tuesday, December 1. The survey can also be completed online or the City of Valley Falls Facebook page.

The survey does not request names or street addresses, and all questions are optional.

Completed paper surveys can be returned to Valley Falls City Hall, while residents needing assistance can contact the city at 785-945-6612.
