Three injured in Holt County wreck

(KLZA)--A two-vehicle collision injured three people in Holt County, Missouri Tuesday afternoon.

Just past 2 p.m., a southbound car driven by a 61-year-old man from Falls City collied with a northbound car driven by a 71-year-ole woman from Country Club, Missouri on Highway 159, approximately two miles east of Big Lake.
The Missouri Highway Patrol reported the man from Falls City was looking at his phone and crossed the center line when the collision occurred.  The report says both vehicles swerved with the car driven by the man from Falls City striking the front passenger side of the northbound vehicle.
Both vehicles skidded off the side of the road, coming to rest on their wheels.
The Falls City man was taken by private vehicle to Community Medical Center in Falls City for treatment of serious injuries.
The driver of the other vehicle and a 72-year-old passenger, also from Country Club Village,  were transported by the Atchison-Holt Ambulance to Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph for treatment of moderate and serious injuries.
The Holt County Sheriff's Office, Mound City Rural Fire Department, and Atchison-Holt Ambulance  all responded to the site of the wreck.
Both vehicles were totaled.
The Missouri Highway Patrol no longer identifies those involved in traffic crashes.
