(KNZA)---An Elwood man faces six felony charges following an investigation into alleged odometer fraud at J-and-M Auto in Elwood.
Elwood Police Chief Brandon Whetstine says officers executed a search warrant October 29th at the dealership, located at 106 North Sixth Street.
Whetstine says there was probable cause to believe James Hubbard and J-and-M Auto were involved in allegedly rolling back vehicle odometers to misrepresent mileage and falsifying official documents.
Court records show Hubbard has been charged in Doniphan County District Court with two counts of theft, two counts of unlawful acts concerning odometers, perjury and making false information.
Whetstine say the investigation is ongoing, with assistance from the Wathena Police Department, Kansas Highway Patrol and Kansas Department of Revenue.
Anyone who purchased a vehicle from J-and-M Auto with inaccurate mileage, or who has information about the investigation, is asked to contact the Elwood Police Department.
