Wayne Gerdes, age 63 of Johnson, passed away Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at UNMC in Omaha.

Survivors include his children and spouses Jeremy and Jana of Johnson; Christopher and Dana of Chester; Philip and Crystal of Auburn; Nathaniel and Alecia of Johnson; Michelle and Douglas Hoff of Rosemount, MN; Randall of Johnson; 18 grandchildren; step-children Trisha (Joel) Kelsay of Auburn; Tonya (Chris) Kramer of Johnson; Brian Gerdes of Omaha; Shari (Gabe) Berglund of Brock; Ashley Caspers of Lincoln; 5 step-grandchildren; mother Pearle Gerdes of Auburn; brothers and sisters James (Joyce) of Auburn; Vernon (Carin) of Auburn; Barbara (Roy) Fife of Overland Park, KS; Patricia Fiorese of Auburn; mother-in-law Helen Volker; sisters-in-law Jeanne (Jim) Haith; Barbara (Dave) Ahlschwede; Lisa (Danny) Wenzl; brother-in-law Brad (Janice) Volker; mother-in-law Vera Rieken; brother-in-law Craig (Gina) Rieken; fiancée Pam Johnson of Beaver Lake; her children Jennifer (Marc) Peter; Michael Johnson; Bobby (Jenn) Johnson; Pam’s 5 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild; other relatives and friends.

A funeral service will be Tuesday, October 11, 2:00 p.m. at St. James (Long Branch) Lutheran Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home in Auburn Monday 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., with family greeting friends 6:00 to 8:00.
