Heráclides “Gladys” Quintana Murillo, age 78, of Valley Falls, Kansas, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, November 16, 2025, surrounded by her family.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 3, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at the Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home.
Heráclides, lovingly known as Gladys, was born on September 29, 1947, in Quevedo, Ecuador, the daughter of José Benigno Quintana Pacheco and Petra Irene Murillo Campuzano.
Gladys married Aníbal Salomón Suasnavas in May 1967 in Quevedo, Ecuador. He preceded her in death in March 2021.
She was a devoted Jehovah’s Witness and deeply committed to her faith. Gladys was an extraordinary cook who loved preparing meals for her family. She also enjoyed spending time in her garden and cherished conversations with her loved ones. Gladys served as a beautician for her family and friends.
She is survived by her two daughters, Martha Lorena (Dennis) Cummings of Valley Falls, KS, and Linda Cecilia (Eric) Blanton of Nortonville, KS; two sons, Pablo Aníbal (Jessenia) Suasnavas Quintana of Richmond, VA, and Salomón Aníbal (Maritza) Suasnavas Quintana of Hamburg, Germany; two sisters, Rosa Quintana de Parrales and Beatriz Quintana de Pinargote; one brother, Alberto Quintana Murillo; six grandchildren, Pablo (Adriana), Alejandra (Ronald), Melissa, Johanna, Ainhoa, and Liam; and two great-grandchildren, Nelson and David.
She was preceded in death by her parents and ten of her siblings.
