Marjorie Ann Hayden, 98, of Atchison, Kansas, passed away peacefully on December 16, 2025, at her home.
Marjorie was born August 19, 1927, in Horton, Kansas. Her parents were Walter B. Page and Ethel H. (Render) Page. Marjorie was raised on a farm and enjoyed riding her pony which included herding cattle. She went to Effingham school and graduated from ACCHS. After graduation she rode the train into Atchison, where she stayed at a boarding house while working for an attorney.
Marjorie married Charles L. Hayden on December 8, 1946, at Effingham Methodist Church, in Effingham, Kansas. They lived in Effingham for twenty-three years before moving to Atchison. They lived in Atchison for fifty-six years and they were married for sixty-seven years. She worked for the Horton Garment Factory as a seamstress and later for the Atchison Leather Product company.
Marjorie enjoyed her flowers and always had a beautiful yard. She enjoyed sewing, reading, doing puzzles and playing internet games. She loved going to garage sales and finding treasures. She loved to decorate for the holidays and hosted all the family gatherings. She was blessed with having a loving family.
Her survivors are her children; Patti (Nick) Beien, Cummings, KS, Debbie Nauman (Friend David), Oklahoma City, OK. Her grandchildren are Angie Hughes, Jen Dean, Kim Hildebrand, Kristi Dean, Mitch Beien and Mike Dean, Great-grandchildren; Josh Hughes, Ashley Tull, Sammi Hughes, Conner Dean, Katie Scholz, Emily Beien, and Joe Beien. Great-great grandchildren; Tyler, Jade, Hank, Elyse, many cousins, nieces and nephews. We will all miss you!!
She is preceded by her parents, husband, Charles L. Hayden, and daughter, Mary Kay Dean, sister, Mary Beth Lemke, brother-in-law, three sisters-in-law, cousins, aunts and uncles.
Memorial service will be held 11:00AM, Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home, Atchison, Kansas, with Pastor Cyd Stein officiating the service. A private family burial will be held at a later date. Memorials are suggested to the Atchison Humane Society and may be sent in care to the funeral home.
