Stella Marie “Seabequah” Mahkuk ,43, of Topeka, Kansas formerly of Horton, Kansas passed away on January 4, 2026, at the Stormont-Vail Hospital in Topeka, KS.
She was born February 11, 1982, in Manhattan Kansas, the daughter of Delores Mahkuk. Stella had a heart of gold. She was kind caring and loving. She was acceptive of people and made friends easily. While at home she enjoyed cooking. Stella enjoyed working with people she worked as a CNA/CMA and a paraprofessional at different times in her life. She was a member of the Prairie Band Potawatomi Tribe and a member of the Native American Church. Stella will be missed very much.
Survivors include her beloved children daughter, Serena (Mason) Fawcett, three sons, Evan Whiteshield, Aleck Whiteshield, Robert “RJ” Whiteshield, her mother, Delores Mahkuk, sister, Jamie (Richard SR.) Holliman-McKinney, brother, Joseph Holliman.
Stella loved her nephews and nieces very much. Marcel Jessepe, Carly Jessepe, Zorah Jessepe, Noam Jessepe and Maya “Wahboxikwah” McKinney. Aunt and Uncles Debra Mahkuk, George (Mary) Mahkuk and Albert Mahkuk. Numerous Cousins. Stella was very close friends with RuthAnn Ramirez. Stella was anticipating the birth of her unborn first grandchild.
Native American Church services will be at 5:30 P.M. on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at Wayne Jessepe’s home on the Kickapoo Reservation. Burial will be on Friday at the Dance Ground Cemetery in Mayetta, Kansas.
