Lawrence (Larry) Albert Flott, 68, of Spring, Texas passed away peacefully at home on December 30, 2025 after a long battle with kidney disease.
He was born on December 8, 1957 in Belleville, Kansas to Richard Flott, Sr. and Nancy Flott Currier. Larry was known for his love of technology innovations and his incredible ability to play music by ear. From a young age, Larry exhibited a passion for music and was especially a fan of The Beatles. That love led to him being involved in musical groups at Logan Junior High and Seaman High School in Topeka and Shawnee Heights High School in Tecumseh, as well as a lifetime of attending all kinds of musical concerts and events. Larry earned a bachelor’s degree in radio and television from Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas in 1980. He worked as a cameraman operator for KTWU Channel 11. He later worked in cable television in Houston, Texas for 38 years.
Larry was preceded in death by Richard Flott, Sr. (his father), Mary Flott (Richards wife), Nancy Flott Currier (his mother), Jack Currier (Nancy’s husband), step-brother Mike Currier, his grandparents and many aunts and uncles.
He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years and primary caregiver, Johanna Flott; his children, Lura Colson (Josh) and Henry Flott; his grandchild, Johnathan Colson; his siblings, Paula Marsalia (James), Richard Flott Jr. (Kim) and Karla Alcabes (Phil); six nieces and nephews; four great nieces and nephew, and numerous cousins and other relatives.
Larry’s caring personality and wonderful sense of humor will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, January 24, 2026 at Parker-Price Cremations and Funeral Services, 245 NW Independence, Topeka, Kansas 66608. Due to weather concerns on Saturday, the interment has been rescheduled for 11:00 am Tuesday morning, January 27, 2026, at the Miller Cemetery east of Everest, Kansas.
