Pearl Roloff Jensen, 104, of rural Everest, Kansas passed from this life on March 29, 2026, in Hiawatha, Kansas. Pearl was born July 26, 1921, on the family farm near Atchison, Kansas. She was the fourth of nine children born to Henry and Emma (Bubb) Roloff.
Pearl was a 1939 graduate of Effingham High School. After graduation she taught school in several locations in Atchison County. In 1946 she married Leroy Jensen in the backyard of her parents’ home. Leroy and Pearl settled on a farm south of Everest, Kansas and lived there their entire lives.
Pearl was a member of the Everest Christian Church and the Horton Hospital Auxiliary where she enjoyed working in the Thrift Shop. She was also active in 4-H leadership for the Atchison County Brush Creek 4-H Club. In later years Pearl and Leroy enjoyed traveling together, even flying to Hawaii to see Pearl’s niece.
Pearl is survived by her five children, Susan Seals of St. Joseph, MO, James (Beth) Jensen of Everest, Jeri Winchell of Rosemount, MN, Steve (Kim) Jensen of Kansas City, MO, and John (Sherri) Jensen of Hutchinson, KS, twelve grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren, plus many nieces and nephews.
Pearl was preceded in death by her parents Henry and Emma Roloff, her husband Leroy, her brothers Roy and Henry Roloff, and her sisters Ruth Scholz, Marie Kammer, Louise Kepfield, Cora Elliston, Gracie Schrader, and Rosemary Albright.
A memorial service is planned for 1:00 PM on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at the Everest Christian Church. The Dishon-Maple-Chaney Mortuary in Horton, Kansas is in charge of arrangements. Memorials for Atchison County Meals on Wheels or the Barnes Reading Room and may be sent in care of the mortuary.
