Ruth Darline (Wolff) Jensen, 96, of Overland Park, Kansas passed away on Saturday, April 4, 2026, at her son’s home in Overland Park.
She was born on January 24, 1930, in Everest, Kansas the daughter of George and Flora Wolff. She attended grade school in Everest and Basehor, Kansas graduating from Basehor High School. She then attended one year at Jane C. Stormont School of Nursing in Topeka, Kansas. On October 29, 1949, she married Harold E. Jensen in Tonganoxie, Kansas and were married for fifty-one years before his passing on October 12, 2000. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Harold Wolff and Warren Wolff and a sister, Delores Klinkenburg. Ruth was a member of the Everest Christian Church. She was a homemaker, Brownie and Cub Scouts leader. In later years she was employed by Skaggs Drug Store in Over Park and at the Shawnee Mission Hospital in Merriam, Kansas.
She is survived by a son, Barry D. Jensen Sr. of Overland Park, Kansas, two daughters, Shirley Schwamberger of Lampe, Missouri and Margaret (Peggy) Garfield of Virginia Beach, Virgina, nine grandchildren, twenty-two great grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the Everest Christian Church and may be sent in care of the Dishon-Maple-Chaney Mortuary in Horton, Kansas.
Graveside services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, April 13, 2026, at the Kennekuk Cemetery east of Horton, Kansas.
