Marjorie Lyons, 94, of Falls City, NE, passed away April 11, 2026 at Falls City. She was born the youngest child of Thomas R. and Amanda (Hahn) Bennett on June 14, 1931 at Falls City.

She married John W. “Bill” Lyons on December 19, 1953 at San Diego, CA. He passed away January 14, 1965.

Marj was raised at Falls City and graduated from Sacred Heart High School with the class of 1949. She then went on to attend Saint Mary’s College in Leavenworth, KS and Providence Hospital School of Nursing in Kansas City, KS. When married the couple lived in and worked in Omaha before moving to Dawson, NE in 1959 to raise their growing family. Marj was a nurse at the Humboldt Hospital and Falls City Community Hospital for many years. During her retirement she moved to Casa Granda, AZ and returned to Falls City in 2020 where she has lived since. She was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church and a former long-time member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church at Dawson.

Marj is survived by her children, Cindy Taylor and her husband Ron of Kansas City, MO, Jeff and his wife Kathy of Effingham, KS, Steve and his wife Donna of Bennett, CO, Terry and his wife Deb of Falls City, Jim and his wife Mary of Omaha, NE, Bill of Gardner, KS, Joe and his wife Theresa of Ashland, NE, daughter-in-law, Sandy Lyons of Falls City, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Tim, sisters, Sarah Barton and Mary Alice Cooke, brothers, Tom, Ed, Don, Jim and John Bennett.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2026 at 2:30 P. M. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Dawson, with Father Jim Meysenburg as the presiding priest. Inurnment will be in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.

A Parish Rosary will be recited on Saturday, 2:00 P. M. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church prior to the service.
