Joseph Ray Holliman (Kitchkommie) 45, of Horton, Kansas passed away Wednesday morning April 15 2026.
Joseph was born in Manhattan KS on June19 ,1980. Joseph spent most of his childhood in Manhattan KS with his mother Delores Mahkuk and his sisters Jamie and Stella. Joseph enjoyed spending time with his family and children; he always enjoyed family gatherings on the holidays. Joseph had a wonderful sense of humor he enjoyed laughing and being silly with close friends and family. Joseph always enjoyed learning about new things like different people, religions and cultures. Joseph was also very creative in creating his own art and was always happy to share it with others. A few other of Joseph’s hobbies included going for walks and being outdoors, listening to various styles of music, and playing the electric guitar. Joseph is also a member of the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation and Native American Church.
Preceded in death by his sister Stella Mahkuk.
Surviving family members include his children Marcel Jessepe, Carly Jessepe, Zorah Jessepe, Noam Jessepe and Mother, Delores Mahkuk, Aunt, Debra Mahkuk, Uncle, George (Mary) Mahkuk, Uncle, Albert Mahkuk and sister, Jamie (Richard Sr.) Holliman-McKinney.
Joseph loved his nieces and nephews very much, Serena (Mason) Fawcett, Evan Whiteshield, Aleck Whiteshield, Robert “RJ” Whiteshield, and Wahboxiekwah McKinney. He became great uncle to Drew Fawcett. Joseph was close to many cousins.
Services will be at 6:00 P.M. on Saturday, April 18, 2026 at Wayne Jessepe’s home on Highway K20 on the Kickapoo Reservation. Burial will be on Sunday at the Old Dance Ground Cemetery in Mayetta, Kansas. The Dishon-Maple-Chaney Mortuary in Horton is in charge of arrangements.
