Elizabeth Anne Saur passed away December 31, 2025, at Loveland, CO. at the age of 78. Anne was born January 18, 1947, to Edith (Ukena) and Gilbert Carter of Leona, KS. She grew up north of Leona, later graduating from Midway High School at Denton.
Annie graduated from The University of Kansas with her Bachelor of Science and Nursing. Shortly after she moved to Colorado, where she met her husband, Michael Clayton Saur. They shared a beautiful life together marrying, September 1, 1990. Annie and Mike enjoyed life together traveling, horseback riding, camping, and fishing.
She was a longtime nurse at Pouder Valley Hospital, Fort Collins, CO, although her true love was her artwork. Annie became quite an artist in watercolors and acrylics. Her artwork has been showcased at Henry's Restaurant in downtown Loveland and various other locations, including many family homes.
Annie was also preceded in death by her parents, brother Richard “Dick” Carter and her husband Michael Saur. Annie was such a bright light in so many lives. She will be missed by her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her Husband, Michael Clayton Saur, age 80 on August 10, 2023, in Fort Collins CO. Michael was born to Don and Margaret Saur, October 25, 1942, in Freemont, Michigan, and grew up on the family farm in Grant, Michigan. Michael and Anne lived in Berthoud, Co. Michael founded Wagon Wheel Plastics in 1975 and it became a very successful business. Michael had many fun vehicles but especially enjoyed John Deere tractors.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers Larry & Doug.
Mike & Annie are survived by their children, Andrew (Jeannie) and Devon (Craig) and grandchildren, Maggie, Jack, Charlie and Gordon.
Anne is also survived by her Sister-in-law, Michele (Leo) Starke and nephew and niece, Jeremiah (Anita) Carter and Kristen (Matt) McAsey and their families.
There will be a memorial (graveside) to celebrate Annie & Michael on Saturday May 2, 2026, at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Leona, KS, at 3:00 p.m.
