Christopher Aaron Diller, 52, of Hiawatha, Kansas, passed away on the evening of April 23rd, 2026.
Chris was born in Newton, Kansas, March 12th, 1974. He was lovingly accepted into the household of Eugene and Lanora Davis Diller through foster care and later adopted by the family. Chris grew up as an athlete with his focus on football, wrestling, and baseball in Andover, Kansas. He graduated from Andover High School in 1992 and later graduated as a football student-athlete from Emporia State University with a degree in elementary and special education.
Chris was known for his love for his family, community, and most importantly, God. He enjoyed spending time with his four children, watching the Dallas Cowboys, Christmas, coaching, and volunteering. He had a love for finding joy and humor in the little moments and sharing stories with whoever was around. Chris had a lasting impact on anyone he met, teaching them that they are valuable and loved by God.
Chris is survived by his wife Heidi; four children: (Brenna, Sutton, Tagen, and Jessa); his mother, Lanora Diller; his sisters: Lisa Diller and Lagena (Joell) Kinman; and his brothers: Marty (Cynthia) Diller and Skeeter (Joy) Snell; his mother and father in-law: Peggy and Eugene Hillyer; and numerous other relatives. He was preceded in death by his father Eugene Diller.
Friends may call at Chapel Oaks Funeral Home after 12 noon Sunday, May 3, where the family will meet with friends from 5 until 7 p.m. that afternoon.
A Celebration of Chris’s Eternal Life is planned for 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at First United Methodist Church in Hiawatha with Pastor Kay Scarbrough officiating. Interment will follow at Hiawatha Cemetery.
