William E. Lowe IV, 64, of Hiawatha, Kansas, passed away May 10, 2026. He was born Jan. 21, 1962, in Hiawatha, the son of Billy and Helen Lowe.
William grew up in Powhattan, where he attended school and graduated salutatorian with the Class of 1980.
He married Janice Gartner on June 21, 1980. They made their home in Hiawatha, where they raised their children, Jeremy, Heather, and Roscoe.
William worked for the City of Hiawatha for many years. He also enjoyed fishing, going to NASCAR races, his morning coffee, tinkering in the garage, and catching up on his grandchildren’s activities.
Survivors include his children, Jeremy (Dana) of Hiawatha, Heather of Sabetha, and Roscoe of Manhattan; six grandchildren, Jerick, Brenner, Ella, Lucca, Georgia, and Bodie; his sisters, Patty (Jim) Parker of Hiawatha, Jan (JR) Seibenmorgen of Hiawatha, and Jean (Terry) Hirsch of Hiawatha; and a brother, Dale (Katie) Lowe of Waseca, Minnesota.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Janice; his parents; a sister, Barb; a daughter-in-law, Robin; and a granddaughter, Addison.
A celebration of William’s life is planned for 11 a.m. Saturday, May 16, 2026, at Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Hiawatha, with Tony French officiating. Private burial will be at Claytonville Cemetery, south of Hiawatha.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 10 a.m. Friday, and the family will visit with friends from 6 until 8 Friday evening.
