Frances Charlotte Potter, 82 of Hiawatha peacefully passed away Monday morning at the Medical Lodges of Jackson County in Holton KS. Frances was born February 16, 1944 in Independence, MO, the daughter of Frank and Marian Modie Vance.
When Frances was a teenager, she lived with her grandmother Eva Dickinson Modie on the farm with the Stone Barn SE of Robinson KS.
Preceded in death by her siblings: older brother James Vance, older sister Joyce Ann Keller and younger brother Thomas Vance, and parents.
Survivors Son "Aaron" Thomas Potter and daughter in-law Emerlinda of Lexington Park MD.
Occupation worked as a Clerk at Horton Thrift Store for over 10 years before retiring. One of her hobbies was she liked to collect antiques.
Graveside services are planned for 1 p.m. Friday, May 15, 2026, at Rose Hill Cemetery, Robinson. Pastor Rich Lehmkuhl will officiate.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. Thursday at Chapel Oaks Funeral Home, 124 S 7th St., Hiawatha 66434.
