Kathryn L. “Katy” Hinton, 33, of Atchison, KS, died on Friday, May 22, 2026, at the Mosaic Life Care Center in St. Joseph, MO, surrounded by her family.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, at the Wyatt Park Baptist Church with Rev. Jeff Burns officiating. Burial will be in the Sunset Memory Gardens, Atchison at 3:00 pm. The family will receive friends on Monday, June 1, 2026, from 5:30 to 8:00 pm at the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home. Katy was born on March 10, 1993, in Laguna Hills, CA. She graduated from Atchison High School in 2011. She was a stay-at-home mother and housewife. She had earned her certified nursing assistant certificate from Highland Vo Technical school. Katy was a member of the Wyatt Park Baptist Church, St. Joseph, MO. She enjoyed spending time with her daughters, doing events and activities like ice skating and dance, and with her new puppy.

She was married to Tyler Hinton on Sept. 20th, 2014. Tyler was a devoted husband and caregiver during her many years of illness. She leaves her husband and three daughters Layla, Harper, and Kaci Hinton, her parents, Karen (Gregory) Pickman, Atchison, KS, siblings, Samuel Pickman, August Pickman, and Sara (Steve) Cline. Maternal grandparents, Fred & Patty Gage, Atchison, KS and paternal grandmother-in-law, Linda Mead, Atchison, KS, brother in law, Tanner (Philisa) Hinton, Independence, MO, and sister-in-laws Tayler Hinton and Taygen (Austin) Spilman, both of Atchison, KS, and several nieces and nephews.
