William Edward “Bill” Brown, 93, of Muscotah, Kansas, passed away on June 13, 2026. He was born on February 10, 1933, in Arrington, Kansas, the son of Victor Henry Brown and Rose Marie (Bidding) Brown.
Bill was a devoted member of the Muscotah United Church and a man deeply committed to his family and community. On October 12, 1952, he married the love of his life, Lucille Mae Brown, in Muscotah. Their remarkable 73?year marriage was a testament to their unwavering love and partnership. Lucille preceded him in death in May 2026.
Bill began his career in 1951 with Pillsbury in Atchison, where he rose to the position of Assistant Superintendent. He dedicated 37 years to Pillsbury before the company was acquired by General Mills, where he continued to work for an additional six years before retiring.
Retirement brought Bill and Lucille great joy as they spent more than 20 winters traveling to Texas, where they made cherished memories and lifelong friends. Bill loved the outdoors and was known for his large, beautiful garden—especially his tomatoes, which he generously shared with anyone who enjoyed them. He also loved camping and fishing and was always ready to host a fish fry with his latest catch. Throughout his life, Bill had a special fondness for his dachshunds, especially his last companion, Joey.
Bill is survived by two sons, Rick (Sandi) Brown of Cummings, KS, and Mike (Tammy) Brown of Cummings, KS; one daughter, Tina (Tom) Wolff of Overland Park, KS; six grandchildren; and eight great?grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Lucille Mae Brown; his son, James Edward Brown; and his sisters, Luella Beach and Ester Moulden.
