Cecelia Mae Wilcox, 79, of Nortonville, Kansas, passed away surrounded by loved ones in Horton, Kansas on Monday June 22, 2026.
A memorial service will be held at Becker Dyer Staton Funeral Home, Atchison, Kansas, at 2:00 PM, Monday, June 29, 2026. Visitation will take place one hour prior to service. She has been cremated under the care of the Becker Dyer Stanton Funeral Home. Burial will follow the service at Sumner Cemetery in Atchison, Kansas. Cecelia was born on February 3, 1947, to Ralph and Mary (Thummel) Wentz in Beloit, Kansas. She graduated from Atchison High School in 1965 and attended NEK area Vo-Technical School. She worked as an office assistant for the State of Kansas SRS office where she retired after 30 years. She married Archie Zacharias on December 29, 1964. He preceded her on Nov. 8,1996. She later married Alva Eugene Wilcox on July 11, 1997. He preceded her on Nov. 9, 2000. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Atchison. She enjoyed street dancing, music, tractor pulls and car shows, she loved baking and sharing that with her family, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Cecelia is survived by her sons, Archie Christopher ‘Chris’ (Michele) Zacharias, Horton, KS and James T. ‘Toby’ (Lila) Zacharias, of Nortonville, KS, daughters Rhonda Spencer. Scammon, KS and Theresa Matchie of Mayetta, KS, a daughter in law Sabrina “Rosie Zacharias, brothers Raymond Wentz, Mesa, AZ and Marvin Wentz, Girard, KS, 17 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands Archie H. Zacharias and Alva Eugene Wilcox, a son Harold Anthony ‘Tony’ Zacharias, brothers Mark Wentz, Howard Wentz, Max Wentz, and sister Josephine Rivers and son-in-laws Steven D. Spencer and Eugene Matchie.
